Ghana international, Emmanuel Toku has stepped up preparations for the new season ahead of the commencement of the new Bulgarian First Professional League over the weekend.
Toku, who plies his trade in Bulgaria for Botev Plovdiv joined the club in February 2021 for a loan spell which is set to expire in the summer of 2022.
The former Ghana Under-17 attacker had a good second half of the season with Botev after playing 16 league games with parent club BK Fremad Amager in the first half of the 2020/21 season.
During his time in Denmark, the attacker scored six goals and provided three assists before leaving for Bulgaria earlier this year.
The 21-year-old’s performances for Botev saw him contribute directly to five goals, scoring three times and setting up another two as his side finished 10th on the league log.
He is expected to be in the lineup on Saturday when Botev Plovdiv hosts Prin Blagoevgrad in their first league game of the 2021/22 season.
