Legon Cities midfielder Elvis Opoku has been speaking with SPORTSWorldGhana after making his debut for his new club in the Ghana Premier League against Berekum Chelsea last Saturday.
The former Aduana Stars key player was voted Man of the match on opening day of the season after his side drew 1-1 against the 2011 Ghana champions at the Accra Sports stadium.
Elvis granted audience to SPORTSWorldGhana.com and the following conversation occurred.
On his man of the match award
“I appreciate it so much looking at the fact that it was my first match for Legon Cities. I only trained with new teammates for a week after I signed and so this was good.” he told SPORTSWorldGhana in an exclusive interview.
On the Berekum Chelsea home draw
“Personally the MVP was good but I would prefer us to win the game. I won the best player award but I was not satisfied because I wanted us to win. Chelsea is a also a good side but all hope is not lost ” he said.
On his personal targets for the season
” I want to help the team do well and get a respectable place in the competition and personally, now you can see that local players are receiving attention in terms of the national team and I want to also earn that. I want to play for the Black Stars” he told SPORTSWorldGhana.com
