Norwegian club IK Start Sporting Director Tor-Kristian Karlsen has expressed his excitement following the signing of Ghanaian striker Ibrahim Arafat- Mensah from Slovenian top-flight side NK Aluminij.
The 23-year old striker completed his two-year move to the Norwegian second-tier side on Thursday after finishing his mandatory medical.
However, Nigerian midfielder Adeleke Akinyemi has also joined IK Start for a same deal.
Though the Ghanaian international is yet to make his debut, Tor-Kristian Karlsen is hopeful IK Start have signed a potent striker who will give them all that they have missed for some time now.
“I am very pleased,” said Karlsen after Ibrahim Arafat Mensah and Adeleke Akinyemi became the last players in the gates at Sparebanken Sør Arena late Wednesday evening.
“We already had a good player group with a great development potential, but with these players we get the skills we have missed, which gives Kjetil Rekdal more strings to play.’’
‘’With Mensah we have received a technical, smart player and in Akinyemi an attacker with great breakthrough and speed, one that can score a lot of goals. In Shala, Start has gotten a midfielder who is a helproff in his attitude and with a good left leg that we are enjoying this fall.’’ Karlsen added.
