Asante Kotoko have been kicked out of the CAF Confederation Cup at the play-off stage by Algerian side ES Setif.

The Algerians won the tie 2-1 on aggregate over two legs following Sunday’s 0-0 draw in Setif.

The Porcupine Warriors needed to win at least by 2-0 to advance to the group stages of the competitions after a 2-1 home defeat against the Algerians but the team of Abdulia Gazale and Johnson Smith lacked the cutting edge up front.

Defensively the Ghanaian team was solid as goalkeeper Razak Abalora pulled several good saves to deny the North Africans.

Thus , there are currently no more Ghanaian team remaining in continental competitions this season as Ashantigold were also eliminated by Burkina Faso’s Salitas.
