The Public Relations Officer of Asante Kotoko National Circles Council (Supporters Group) Osei Owusu believes the Porcupine warriors would have a disgraceful and disastrous campaign should they decide to participate in Africa in the 2020/21 season.
Osei Owusu, thus wants Asante Kotoko not to compete on the ticket of Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
The Ghanaian giants are major beneficiary of a decision by the Ghana FA’s Executive Council to cancel the 2019-20 football season declaring all results expunged.
In view of that, clubs that represented Ghana in the CAF inter clubs competitions last year were once again chosen to represent the country, therefore Kotoko will represent in the CAF Champions League with AshantiGold SC competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
He told Kumasi based OTEC FM, “The current state of the team (Kotoko) is not in good shape. We will be exposed by the North African teams. I will agree with those calling for our withdrawer if there will be no punishment from CAF,”.
“The team should be well prepared and come out solid. The board should take this opportunity to appeal to Manhyia on the one-year player ban. This team is not in good condition for Africa or a new season,” he added.
“A player like Richard Arthur will score only 1 goal if given the opportunity to play 30 matches. It will be a disaster if Kotoko represent Ghana in Africa with this team {squad},” Osei Owusu concluded.
