Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara has revealed that re-appointed Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah will not be left out in decision to appoint a new technical staff for the Black Stars.
He explains although the FA holds the sole right to do so Appiah will be consulted.
The GFA dissolved the previous backroom staff who worked with former coach Avram Grant and multiple reports suggesting Ibrahim Tanko, Stephen Appiah, and Richard Kingston reportedly linked with assistant coach, team manager and goalkeepers’ trainer roles respectively.
Speaking to Accra based Class FM, Sannie said “We’ll do it in consultation with him but after all, we are the appointing authority, we pay the piper and give the direction of the national team, but he’ll have a say in who becomes a member of his backroom staff.”
