Aduana Stars FC talisman, Yahaya Mohammed has urged all Ghanaians to throw their weight behind coach CK Akonnor to end the 40 year wait for an AFCON trophy.
The Black Stars lost narrowly to Atlas Lions of Morocco and a section of the Ghanaian football enthusiasts were not satisfied with the results.
According to the experienced striker, Ghanaians should be more concerned about the team’s performance at major tournament and their ability to win a trophy instead of focusing on friendly games.
“In my opinion I’m not thinking about the score line of the game.
“I’m thinking about how prepared we are to win the [2021]Africa Cup because winning all our friendly matches and losing the Africa Cup, it’s zero.
“But me building my team to win the Africa Cup I think that one is better than you winning all your friendly matches without thinking about building a team and filling your holes to win the AFCON, work done is zero.
“So Ghanaians should lower their expectation [about the friendly matches] and rather come together to help the coach.
“[CK Akonnor], now he is the one there, you have no option but to support him.
“Whether you are party A or party B, you have to support him for him to win the ultimate for us.” Yahaya Mohammed told Goodnews fm.
