Black Stars of Ghana captain Andre Ayew has congratulated his former club Olympique de Marseille for their win at Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
This was Marseille’s first win over their sworn rivals since November 2011 and Andre who spent eight years at the Velodrome was more than excited after full time.
Neymar was sent off on his return from Covid-19 quarantine after reacting to an alleged racist slur as Marseille snapped their 20-match winless run against Paris Saint-Germain with a 1-0 victory over the reigning Ligue 1 champions in the Week three fixture.
The current Swansea City player wrote “merci les frérots. OM” on his official twitter page following full time and this translates into English as “Thank you brothers Olympique de Marseille”. The congratulatory message was accompanied with an old time Marseille picture of himself, Dimitri Payet and match-winner Florian Thauvin.
Ayew was said to have been the subject of a transfer interest from PSG in August but now the son of Marseille great Abedi Ayew could not hide his excitement after Sunday’s big win in the Classique.
