Asante Kotoko, head coach CK Akonnor, says talisman Songne Yacouba is a major doubt for the club’s NC Special Competition epic semifinal clash against Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
On Monday, the Porcupine Warriors left Kumasi for Asante Mampong to prepare for Hearts game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Yacouba missed the team’s previous training sessions, however, he resumed training on Wednesday ahead crunch game in Accra.
The 27-year-old has been battling with injuries after Kotoko’s 2-0 win against Medeama SC in the penultimate round of the NC Special Competition Tier 2 in Kumasi.
Fans of the club were happy to see their dreaded striker back in action. Nonetheless, the gaffer says the Burkinababe international could miss the crucial encounter on Sunday.
“I don’t think Songne Yacouba can play the game between us Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak on Sunday” Akonnor is quoted as saying by Nhyira FM.
