Ghana striker William Opoku Mensah has joined USL side Swope Park Rangers from club Ghanaian club Karela United FC both clubs have confirmed.
A Statement on the club’s website read ”The Swope Park Rangers have added forward William Opoku Mensah to the squad ahead of the 2019 season, the club announced today. The signing is pending the receipt of Opoku’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC), as well as pending league and federation approval.”
Opoku, 23, joins the Rangers from Karela United after excelling in the Ghanaian Premier League.
The hardworking forward served as captain and tallied seven goals in 11 games, including a 19-minute hat trick against giants, Accra Hearts of Oak, last April.
The Rangers open the season on the road against New York Red Bulls II on March 9 at MSU Soccer Park, before returning to Kansas City for their home opener against the Pittsburgh.
