Ghana’s Black Stars Captain Andre Ayew netted his first goal and assist of the season in three games for Swansea City AFC at Wycombe Wanderers FC.
The newly-promoted team who were without a point and yet to score in the English Championship on Saturday welcomed the Swans who were on four points coming into the encounter.
13 minutes into the game, the host felled behind to an improvisation finish from the Ghanaian attacker who stretched to his limit to break the deadlock of the match to put his team in front.
After 10 minutes of grabbing his first goal of the season, the 30-year-old Ghanaian sent a low cross into the box which was tapped home by Jamal Lowe to make it 2-0 to the Black and Whites.
Swansea could have gone into the dressing room with three or four goals but failed to convert the chances that came their way after they doubled their lead.
After the recess, the host upped their game and gave the Swans a good run for their money throughout the second 45 minutes.
There were no goals scored in the second half of the game as Swansea recorded their second win in three games this season in the Championship.
Ayew who was the top scorer for the Jack Army last season got his first goal of the campaign and also registered his first assist in the English second tier.
Swansea City temporarily goes top of the table with seven points from a possible nine.
