Ghana’s senior national team- Black Stars head coach Charles Akonnor says his team played very despite losing 1-0 to Morocco on Tuesday night in an International friendly.
Goalkeeper Razak Abalora’s second half howler ensured Morocco recoded a slim win over the West African powerhouse.
”Well, I think in my opinion we didn’t look bad at all, first of all is the most important thing for me to see how disciplined we could play, the team spirt, work ethics and know we should create, understanding of how to play. Obviously we played against an opponent whose previous matches have been very very good and like I said earlier they have not lost a match,” Charles Akonnor said.
”We made it very difficult for them especially in the first half and the second half, we tried as much as going to open up to attack.
”Everything that’s you know if you look at the way we played because the negative part is that we lost so there’s been a lot of positives that you know and of course, we have some few guys to join us and should we get all of them and it works like this, I think going forward it will be very very helpful.
”The way I want us to play you know previously in our matches that we played there were many factors that we were not able to play as a team collectively. Earlier on, work ethics and the understanding of roles that each and everyone has to play and a few weeks even though we didn’t get the full house from the beginning. The few days we trained I think its been useful and I think the future is hopeful.
”Well, I am very very happy. If you look at the understanding, the roles and each and everyone has to play in the game compared to Yesterday’s game to our previously games you wouldn’t say that we have not improved so I think speaking to the boys, telling them exactly what I want satisfies me because they did show discipline. It made me believe that of course when I talk to them they listen and it is really really good. What we need to do now is how we will attack and create chances to score and I think that will gradually come. ” Akonnor concluded.
