Captain of newly crowned Ghana Premier League champions, Accra Hearts of Oak, Fatau Mohammed has revealed coach Samuel Boadu had a great impact on the club with his first message after his appointment as the head coach.
Boadu left his role at Medeama Sporting Club midway through the season to take over the vacant coaching job at the Rainbow club, steering them to an impressive run in both the league and MTN FA Cup, accompanied by titles.
Fatau, who recently has earned a call-up into the Black Stars B side says the coach’s first message to the players played a roe in turning things around at the club.
“When he was appointed as our new coach, he told us [players] that we need to do the work and win as one people,” Fatau told Space FM, when asked about what coach Boadu told them to do.
“He tasked us to ask ourselves one question; ‘Why do we keep performing bad whiles we have quality players?’
“From there, we strated turning things around gradually by working extra hard.”
