Ghana and Hellas Verona midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has announced his retirement from the Ghana national team.
Badu’s retirement comes following a 3-year absence from the national team after he last played for the Black Stars in Gabon during the 2017 AFCON.
Badu in a statement mentioned that he took the decision after extensive consultation with his family and love ones.
Despite expressing his disappointment for not being able to guide the Black Stars to win the AFCON, the former Berekum Chelsea star believes he played his heart out for the country.
Agyemang Badu has represented Ghana at the U20, U23 and at the senior levels.
On 22 May 2008, he received his first call-up to the Black Stars but had his first senior international appearance on June 8, 2008 against Lesotho and his first goal came against Congo in June 2011.
