Former side Villarreal has extended a career lifeline to Eric Bailly, with the 29-year-old Ivorian signing an 18-month deal with the La Liga team, as reported by The BBC.
Bailly’s career faced challenges since his promising debut season at Old Trafford in 2016/2017, where he made 113 appearances in seven campaigns.
A combination of injuries and inconsistent performances led to his descent in the pecking order at Old Trafford, eventually resulting in his release during the summer transfer window.
His move to Besiktas turned out to be a disastrous chapter, marked by controversies and exclusion from the first team, leading to his release from the Turkish side.
