Hazard’s absence from Belgium’s two Nations League games contrasts with the emergence of a new talent, the latest to leave a particularly prolific country when it comes to young players.
This is Jeremy Doku, an 18-year-old winger from Anderlecht who is currently the great sensation of football in Belgium. Against Iceland, he played his second official match with the Red Devils jersey and crowned his marvelous performance with a goal.
All this corroborates the great level he is offering at Anderlecht, in which he has been a very important footballer for two seasons. In his first season, at the age of 17, he scored 3 goals in 21 games; In the second, already established as a starter, he has made 1 in 4 games and has won the call for the selection of Roberto Martínez.
The Catalan coach made him debut in Denmark, although then he only played 4 minutes. Days later, already as a starter, he left an outstanding performance against Iceland in which he also scored.
Doku is a skilled right-handed winger, capable of playing on both wings, although he feels more comfortable on the left, as can be seen in his great goal against Iceland. It so happens that he shares an ideal position and demarcation with Hazard, whose absence in both games of the League of Nations has set off alarms about his moment of form and health.
The Madridista may be one of those harmed by the emergence of this new prodigy, although he is not the only one. Doku threatens to overtake all of them in Bob Martinez’s plans.
