Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru was named by renowned Belgian tabloid Het Laatste Nieuws as the best player in Anderlecht’s 4-1 win over Royal Antwerp on Monday night.
Ashimeru, who is on loan from Red Bulls Salzburg was in his elements in the middle of the pitch at the Bosuilstadion as Anderlecht went away to record a convincing 4-1 win.
The credible and wisely read Belgian tabloid rated Ashimeru seven out of ten which was the highest among the players who featured.
“He took care of the first goal and was in the game well afterwards. On top of that, he scored his first league goal, Majeed was unstoppable.” The tabloid stated.
“Ashimeru opened the score with an excellent infiltration. He was also always available and did a great job,” they added.
The Ghanaian playmaker opened the scoring for his side in the 52nd minute as they went on to record an emphatic win.
