Hearts of Oak SC on loan Player at Elmina Sharks FC, Mitchelle Sarpong became the first player to score a goal in the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season.
Sarpong found the back of the net in the second half after a goalless first 45 minutes of the match to put the visitors 1-0 up following a blunder by the home team’s goalkeeper.
Sarpong’s cool finish on the 64th minute of the match was the first to be scored in the new season to make history for himself after a difficult season at Hearts last campaign.
Unfortunately, his goal was not enough to secure all three points for the Fearsome Sharks who were seven minutes away from clinching their first win of the season in their first game.
Accra Lions FC struck back to make sure spoils were shared in the season opening game when star boy Rauf Salifu pounced on a poor goalkeeping to snatch a point for the new comers on the 83rd minute mark.
