For some time now there have been a lot of people wondering why 8 key Black Maidens players who played in the qualifies couldn’t make the World Cup Squad. Earlier reports in the Ghanaian media claim the said players prior to the world cup failed the mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging test ( MRI ) which is totally untrue.
Communications director of the team William Bossman recently granted an interview with Wamputu Sports on Happy Fm in an attempt to explain why the girls were dropped but rather he made things worse, Insisting the girls were Dropped because they were Above the age limit.
“There is no iota of truth in the reports that 8 players of the Black Maidens has failed MRI test.
“It is a very sad news circulating in Ghana as the team prepares for the world cup. Some of the girls that played the qualifiers are now above the age limit and they have been eliminated from the team. He said.
Well, I’m puzzled. I don’t think far. How can players above the age limit be able to play in the qualifies? Mr. Bossman should come again with proper explanation because If you say someone is above age limit meaning the girls that were dropped were Above 17 which is totally false.
The sad truth is, The Girls were dropped because they didn’t meet the FIFA rules which indicates a player below the age 15 can’t play at the World U17 tournament.
This is what I Call poor management because the management themselves didn’t know about the rules until after the qualifies which is a big shame.
None of the girls that were dropped were even 15 years of age. They are all below 15 so what does Bossman mean by above age limit?. He should again with proper explanation.
If the black Maidens fail to excel in Jordan the management need to be blamed because we are missing eight top class players.
