The representative of Mohammed Salisu met with officials of Rennes on Wednesday according to several reports by the French media as the former club of Asamoah Gyan pushes to land their prime transfer target for next season.
The Red and Blacks will play in the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League and are desperate to strenghten their defence following the departure of 36-year old Frenc-Malagasy center back Jeremy Morel and sporting director Florian Maurice is determined to recruit the La Liga revelation to fill the void created by Morel.
Many reports had indicated agreement between Salisu’s club Real Valladolid and Rennes but the 21-year Ghanaian reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League but Rennes are still not out in the race.
It remains to be seen whether this meeting between Salisu’s agent and the Ligue 1 side will bring finality to this protracted transfer business.
