Ghana’s Black Stars coach CK Akonnor has advised Ghanaian midfield mastermind, Thomas Partey to stay put at Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

The Ghana National team coach disclosed in an exclusive interview with Accra-based Starr FM.

“I wouldn’t want Thomas Partey to move to Arsenal because with Athletico Madrid , he’ll always play in the Champions League”, he said.

According to the Black Stars gaffer, the midfielder would find it difficult to play in the Champions League season after season because the English top-flight team Arsenal will always suffer to make it to the UEFA’s elite club competition.

” It will be difficult for Arsenal FC to qualify for the Champions League so I would edge him to stay in Madrid”, he added.

The 27-year-old has been linked to a move away from the Spanish La Liga side to London side Arsenal FC since January.
