Jwaneng Galaxy was whacked, demolished, humiliated, disintegrated and walloped by 5-star Simba SC. Simba needed to win to book a place in the quarter-finals as their destiny was in their own hands.
Before the commencement of the game, there was a mini-fight between Simba fans and some of the officials of Jwaneng Galaxy as the Tanzanians suspected them of wanting to pour a mixture on the pitch they believed to be juju.
In a must-win game at the famous Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, Simba fans rejoiced and were in a party mood right from the time Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea blew his whistle for the commencement of the game.
It was all Simba as Jwaneng Galaxy had no antidote to Abdelhak Benchikha’s powerful men’s plans.
In a space of 22 minutes, Jwaneng Galaxy was down by 3 goals as goals from Said Ntibazonkiza, Pa Omar Jobe and Denis Kibu in the 7th, 14th and 22nd minutes respectively condemned the Batswana side into embarrassing first-half damage.
The second half was no different for Jwaneng Galaxy as they conceded another 3 goals in the last 16 minutes to make sure that their day was so horrible.
Clatous Chama, Juma Kennedy and Fabrice Ngoma were the second-half scorers as they scored in the 76th, 86th and 89th minute.
The result is a sweet one for Simba because it has helped them to progress to the quarter-finals.
Jwaneng Galaxy has been disgraced in Tanzania and it will forever remain with them. They finished bottom of Group C with just 4 points.
