Black Stars duo, Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful and Emmanuel Boateng were all in action for Columbus Crew as they thrashed Chicago Fire FC.
In the second round of games in the United States Major League Soccer on Thursday, the two defenders, Afful and Mensah lasted the whole 90 minutes for the host in their 3-0 first win of the campaign.
Mensah, who is the captain of his team was at the heart of defense for the Yellow and Blacks as he stopped almost every attempt by Chicago Fire strikers to have a feel at goal with a mouth-watering defensive display.
The diminutive wing-back, Afful, was full of energy running at the opposition defenders with any given opportunity to attack and never stopped working hard for his side in a game they outplayed the visitors.
Emmanuel Boateng, who was playing his first game for the first time in Columbus Crew colours was introduced into the game after 70 minutes and showed glimpses of brilliance despite not being on the pitch for a long time.
Ghanaian-born American Gyasi Zardes, Derrick Étienne and Darlington Nagbe scored the three goals for the host who easily ride over the visitors to a comfortable win at home.
