Former chairman of the Ghana Football Association Dr. Kofi Amoah, has strongly justified a decision to disqualify Tema Youth SC President Winfred Osei Kwaku ‘Plamer’ from contesting for the 2019 Ghana FA Presidential seat.
The former Black Stars management committee chairman, was disqualified by the election committee of the Normalisation committee which was chaired by Dr. Kofi Amoah on grounds of integrity.
Palmer, however, appealed to CAS following his disqualification from contesting the Ghana FA Presidency by the Elections Committee on 8 October 2019.
The elections went ahead without Palmer on 25 October 2019 where Kurt E.S Okraku emerged winner to lead the Ghana FA.
CAS in their release on Wednesday 2 September 2020, dismissed Palmer’s appeal filed on 14 October 2019 by against the GFA.
In a chat with based Sikka FM on Wednesday, Dr. Kofi Amoah said his outfit worked with integrity and is pleased that the team’s work has been vindicated.
“We worked with integrity and we are pleased that our work has been vindicated to have been executed per the mandate and powers given to the Normalization Committee by FIFA,” said the FIFA/CAF Normalisation Committee boss in an interview with Kumasi-based Sikka FM.
He added ”Good luck to the Ghana Football Association.”
Meanwhile, spokesperson for Palmer has told Asempa FM that his boss is doing very well and not down after receiving the verdict from CAS.
He said despite the disappointment they are ready to assist the current administration going forward.
“Palmer is calm and he is a sportsman who knows that you will either win or lose. He is calm and not down.” Appiah said.
